Pre-Engineering Student creating 3D model on his computer

Engineering & Project Lead the Way (PLTW)

PLTW is a multi-year sequence of courses which, when combined with college preparatory mathematics and science courses in high school, introduces students to the scope, rigor and discipline of engineering and engineering technology. The students learn essential Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) skills and are able to design, model and animate engineering projects using three-dimensional modeling software. Throughout the program, students learn to apply the design process and acquire strong skills in teamwork, communication, organization, critical-thinking, and problem solving.

Students are assessed on classroom and laboratory participation, core competencies, tests/quizzes, individual projects, scientific notebook, research papers, presentations, and shop safety.
