Automotive Technology Teacher
Automotive Technology
The Automotive Technology program builds a solid foundation of automotive fundamentals and exposes students to real world industry practices. During the two-year program, students are taught all aspects of the automotive industry, including alternative energy vehicles and bio fuels. The students will experience a balance of theory and lecture accompanied by real-world hands-on exposure in the lab. The program is National Automotive Technician Educator Foundation (NATEF) - certified training program in brakes, electricity/electronics systems. Graduates of the program use skills learned to transition into an entry-level automotive technician position or into a post-secondary education. Due to the highly technical nature of today's automotive industry, courses in mathematics and science are strongly recommended prerequisites for successful completion of the program. Students are assessed on classroom and shop participation, core competencies, tests/quizzes, individual projects and shop safety.
